Cleavers is an aggressive annual creeping plant. They attach themselves to anything in their way with small hooked hairs that grow out of the stems and leaves.This herb has a rich history of worldwide use. Its latin name Galium is derived from the Greek word for 'milk' as its flowers were used to curdle milk in cheese making, a tradition that is still alive in Sweden. The First Nations peoples use it as poultice. Traditionally, it was a popular material for bedstraw amongst European due to its sticky nature.
